AiVikings.ai offers REST, MCP and a WHMCS registrar module for different domain workflows. REST fits application code, MCP exposes tools to compatible assistants and agents, and WHMCS connects domain operations to an existing hosting order flow. The interfaces do not all expose an identical feature set.
Capability matrix
| Capability | REST | MCP | WHMCS module |
|---|---|---|---|
| Domain availability | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Live pricing | Public pricing API and authenticated checks | Availability/pricing workflow | TLD sync and premium lookup |
| Registration | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Renewals | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Nameserver management | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| DNS record management | API routes | DNS tools | Not claimed for this module |
| Portfolio orchestration | Application-controlled | Agent/application-controlled | WHMCS lifecycle |
| Authentication | Customer bearer token | Bearer token or OAuth client flow | Configured API key |
The WHMCS module page is the source for installation and download status. Do not infer full DNS-zone management from nameserver support. A nameserver operation changes delegation; it does not edit individual DNS records.
Verified request limits
The REST availability schema accepts 1-200 domain names. Registration and renewal requests operate on one domain at a time. The generic term schema accepts 1-10 years, subject to each TLD's actual allowed terms. Nameserver replacement accepts 1-13 nameserver entries at schema level; registry rules may impose additional requirements.
Bulk management means your application can coordinate operations across a portfolio. It does not mean a whole portfolio purchase is one atomic transaction. Preserve a per-domain result, including unknown outcomes, and resume only the rows that need attention.
How it works
Use discovery to inspect the actual MCP tool names and input schemas. Then compare the intended workflow against the operation reference. A useful initial task is “list my domains and report the stored expiry dates without changing anything.” Validate that the account context is correct before enabling paid tools.
AiVikings.ai supports 650+ TLDs and domain and account MCP tools. Use the live catalog and discovered schemas for the particular extension and operation. A broad TLD count is not evidence that every extension has identical registration rules.
What is included, and what still costs money?
API/MCP access and DNS management are included. Domain registrations and renewals remain paid and consume prepaid balance. Fund the account by card or crypto, then check current pricing before the operation. Do not label a free interface as a free domain registration service.
What must an integration implement itself?
Your application owns tenant identity, purchase authority, task budgets, durable workflow records and recovery decisions. This matrix does not promise a public sandbox, a universal idempotency header, native per-user budgets or unlimited request rates. Check the specific API contract before relying on a feature beyond the stated capabilities.
When this is not the right fit
A hosting provider needing a complete hosting or email control panel still needs its hosting platform. AiVikings.ai supplies the domain operations layer, without hosting or email upsells in its purchase flow.

Questions people ask
Are all interfaces identical?
No. WHMCS supports its documented registrar workflow; REST and MCP also serve custom application workflows.
Is bulk registration atomic?
Do not assume that. Track separate domain operations and their individual outcomes.
Is DNS included?
Yes. DNS management is included; domain registration and renewal remain paid.
Does prepaid funding include per-user budgets?
Do not assume it does. Enforce application budgets separately unless the relevant product feature is confirmed.
