Domain registration inside your reseller platform

AiVikings.ai lets resellers offer domain registration through their own platform using REST, MCP or the WHMCS registrar module. Your application can show live pricing, submit an authorized registration and manage renewals or nameservers. Keep the client relationship and order experience in your platform while AiVikings.ai supplies the domain operations.

How it works

A client chooses a domain in your interface. Your backend checks availability and a current quote, resolves the intended customer and registration contact, and records the client's approval. The backend submits the paid operation with protected credentials, verifies the domain holding and returns the relevant result to the client.

Start with a read-only request:

curl --include \
  'https://api.aivikings.ai/pricing/v1/quote?domain=aivikings.ai'

On 7 October 2026 the response reported domain_unavailable. The correct storefront behavior is to show that result and invite another candidate. Do not replace an unavailable name with a standard catalog price and continue to payment as though the domain were available.

Use the pricing API reference for exact-domain quotes, premium handling and response states. A price shown during browsing can change before registration, so recheck the decision when the client commits to the order.

Can my reseller clients buy through my platform?

Yes. A trusted backend can call AiVikings.ai on behalf of the authorized customer workflow, so the client does not need a separate registrar checkout for every order. Your platform remains responsible for authentication, tenant access, commercial terms, customer billing and support. A registrar API does not automatically supply those business systems.

Never send the reseller credential to the browser. The browser should identify its own authenticated user and requested action, while the backend determines which customer mapping that user may access. Validate the exact candidate and term before the paid request, even if a model helped the client choose the name.

Store an internal order record that survives worker restarts. The record should connect the client approval to the domain operation and its result. That makes it possible to explain a pending or failed order without guessing from a balance change or a chat transcript.

How do sub-customers and registration contacts fit together?

AiVikings.ai supports reseller and sub-customer workflows, but customer identity and registrant identity should be explicit. The party paying your invoice is not automatically the intended legal holder of every domain. Resolve the correct contact and account relationship before registration rather than applying one default contact to every client order.

The customer mapping guide shows the registration request fields and explains tenant boundaries. Retain the customer mapping with each operation so a renewal or handover can identify the same client later. Do not depend on a project display name as the only link between systems.

Should I use the WHMCS plugin instead of custom code?

If WHMCS already manages your client orders and renewals, start with the AiVikings.ai WHMCS registrar module. The module supports TLD pricing sync, availability checks, premium prices, registration, renewal and nameserver management. A custom REST or MCP integration is useful when your platform needs a different orchestration path.

The module lets you offer all available TLDs, only selected TLDs, or all except selected TLDs. Configure the API key, choose the selection mode, run Registrar TLD Sync and assign the desired extensions in WHMCS Domain Pricing. Follow the module page for current download and setup information.

Premium pricing is checked during availability and again before registration or renewal to help avoid stale pricing. Your commercial workflow still needs to present the relevant price and obtain the required client authority. Do not assume nameserver support means the WHMCS module exposes every DNS-record operation available through MCP.

How can hosting companies provision without manual steps?

Connect your order or project event to a durable provisioning workflow. Use AiVikings.ai for the domain stages and your hosting platform for the service stages. Registration, delegation, DNS records and application readiness should each have a recorded result so a failure in one stage does not repeat an already completed purchase.

Read the agency kickoff walkthrough for project-triggered work and the DNS guide for authoritative and recursive checks. An HTTP success from the registrar does not establish that the hosting account accepts the domain or that a certificate is ready.

How are purchases funded?

AiVikings.ai uses prepaid account balance topped up by card or crypto. Your backend can place authorized domain orders without storing a separate card for each agent or user. Registration and renewal are paid operations even though the API/MCP interface and DNS management are included. Keep your own customer invoice and registrar-operation records distinct.

For shared budgets, reserve and settle spending in your application. A prepaid balance does not automatically create a separate allowance for each reseller client. Review current prices, currency and allowed terms before each paid decision, and keep insufficient funding visible as an actionable order state.

What happens after a timeout or partial failure?

Treat a lost paid response as an unknown outcome until you verify account-owned domain state. Public availability alone cannot establish that your client acquired the name. Keep the order unresolved while reconciling the registrar evidence, and avoid automatically starting another registration simply because the first worker exited with an error.

For a multi-domain order, preserve a separate result per domain. A batch can contain completed, rejected and unresolved operations. Present those outcomes honestly instead of labeling the whole batch successful or failed. The operation reference explains the underlying routes and practical request limits.

When this is not the right fit

A reseller that needs a complete storefront, tax engine, hosting panel and service desk still needs those business components. AiVikings.ai is the domain operations layer. For an MSP taking over existing client holdings, start with the onboarding and handover guide before initiating new purchases.

Questions people ask

Can clients buy domains without leaving my platform?

Yes. A trusted backend can coordinate authorized AiVikings.ai operations and return the results to your client interface.

Is there a WHMCS module?

Yes. It supports the documented registrar workflow, including pricing sync, registration, renewals and nameservers.

Does sub-customer support replace tenant access controls?

No. Your application must validate which client may act on each customer mapping.

Are registrations free with API access?

No. Domain purchases and renewals consume prepaid balance.

Can I retry every failed order automatically?

Reconcile uncertain paid outcomes first, then retry only when the result and operation contract justify it.
