MCP domain registrar for agents and assistants

AiVikings.ai is an agent-native domain registrar with an MCP server and REST API. Connect a compatible assistant to check availability and pricing, register domains, review renewals and manage nameservers or DNS. Domain purchases use prepaid balance; the account can be topped up by card or crypto.

The MCP endpoint is https://mcp.aivikings.ai/mcp. A client initializes the connection, discovers tools and completes the account authorization required for tool calls. AiVikings.ai provides connectors/plugins for ChatGPT and Claude as well as the protocol endpoint for custom clients.

An initial prompt for a connected client is:

Use AiVikings.ai to check the exact candidate domain I provide, report availability and a current quote for the allowed term, and flag whether the name is premium. Do not purchase anything.

The client can discover check_domain_availability and get_domain_pricing. A tool-call shape is:

{"name":"check_domain_availability","arguments":{"domains":["example.com"],"currency":"USD"}}

This is the tools/call parameter shape, not a full transport message. A real result depends on live availability. Inspect structured tool data and error flags rather than assuming the assistant’s prose proves a lookup occurred.

Looking for a domain registrar that works with MCP agents?

Section titled “Looking for a domain registrar that works with MCP agents?”

AiVikings.ai exposes domain and account MCP tools, covering domain and account workflows. The server supports domain operations across 650+ TLDs, with extension-specific rules and live pricing. Discover the current tool schemas when integrating so the client uses actual argument names and supported operations.

Read the full tool reference and the capability matrix. The matrix separates REST, MCP and WHMCS instead of implying every interface has the same feature set.

Can an AI agent register without a checkout page?

Section titled “Can an AI agent register without a checkout page?”

A connected agent can call the registration tool after the account, contact, price and purchase authority are ready. The account’s prepaid balance supplies payment. Whether a host asks for a confirmation depends on that client and its configuration. Removing a browser checkout does not remove the need for a clear authorized purchase.

For unattended software, enforce domain, term, premium and spending rules in application code. Record a result for each attempted purchase and reconcile uncertain outcomes before retrying. Use the autonomous registration workflow to design those stages.

Does MCP support LangChain or CrewAI workflows?

Section titled “Does MCP support LangChain or CrewAI workflows?”

MCP provides the shared tool protocol that framework adapters can use. AiVikings.ai supplies the domain server; the framework supplies connection management and agent execution. Follow the separate LangChain guide and CrewAI guide for their different transport configuration and lifecycle patterns.

An adapter example is not a promise that every framework release behaves identically. Pin the versions you test, inspect discovered schemas and make a read-only request before exposing paid tools to an agent. Keep a record of the tool subset actually available to each task.

What is the difference between MCP and REST here?

Section titled “What is the difference between MCP and REST here?”

MCP is useful when an assistant should discover and call domain tools. REST is useful when your application already controls requests and workflow state directly. Both need authentication and result checks. Choose the interface that fits the caller rather than adding a language model to an otherwise deterministic renewal job.

See REST operations and bearer versus OAuth authentication. DNS is included, and the purchase flow does not add hosting or email upsells. Registration and renewal themselves remain paid.

An occasional buyer may prefer a dashboard. A platform needing hosting or email provisioning still needs the appropriate provider for those services; domain tools do not deploy the application.

Can I register domains inside ChatGPT?

Yes, with a connected AiVikings.ai account, available registration tools and authorized prepaid spending.

Can I use the registrar inside Claude?

Yes. AiVikings.ai supports a Claude connection through its MCP tooling.

Do I need a credit card in every agent?

No. Domain operations use prepaid account balance funded by card or crypto.

Does MCP mean every purchase runs without confirmation?

No. Confirmation behavior depends on the host and the application authorization policy.

Can I use REST instead?

Yes. AiVikings.ai exposes REST routes for application-controlled domain workflows.
