Registry Policies
Registry-level and ICANN rules that apply to every domain registered through AIvikings.
These Registry Policies explain the registry-level and ICANN rules that apply to every domain you register through AIvikings, in addition to our Terms and Conditions. They reflect standard ICANN consensus policies passed through to you via our upstream accredited registrar partner. Where a specific top-level domain registry imposes additional or stricter rules, those rules also apply.
1. Registrant rights and responsibilities
As a registrant you have the right to clear information about fees and policies, to manage your domain, and to transfer it in line with the rules below. You are responsible for providing and maintaining accurate registrant data, for complying with ICANN consensus policies and registry rules, and for renewing your domain on time. ICANN publishes a Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities document, which applies to your registration.
2. Accurate registration data
You must provide accurate and complete registrant contact data, and keep it current. We are required to verify certain contact details, such as the registrant email address, and we may suspend a domain where required data is missing, inaccurate, or unverified. This supports our obligations under ICANN policy and under NIS-2.
3. Domain transfers
Transfers between registrars follow the ICANN Transfer Policy. A domain generally cannot be transferred to another registrar within 60 days of initial registration or of a previous transfer. A transfer requires the authorisation code and a valid request, and may be denied where the domain is subject to a dispute, a court order, a pending change of registrant, or non-payment. A change of registrant (change of the registered name holder) follows the ICANN change-of-registrant process and may impose a further transfer lock.
4. Renewal, expiry, and redemption
Domains are registered for a fixed term of between one and ten years. In line with the ICANN Expired Registration Recovery Policy, we will send renewal reminders before expiry. If a domain is not renewed by its expiry date, it enters an expiration process: a grace period during which you may usually still renew, followed by a redemption period during which restoration may be possible for an additional fee, followed by release of the domain back to the registry. Exact timelines vary by registry. After expiry you have no guaranteed right to recover the domain, and we may, where permitted, renew and transfer an expired domain to a third party.
5. Domain disputes (UDRP and URS)
Domains are subject to ICANN's Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) and, where applicable, the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) system. By registering a domain you agree to be bound by these dispute procedures. If a domain is subject to a UDRP or URS proceeding, we may lock it from changes and transfers, and we will act on the outcome of the proceeding or any order from a court or arbitration body of competent jurisdiction.
6. Suspension, lock, and deletion
We may lock, suspend, or delete a domain where required by a registry, by ICANN policy, by a court order, by law, in response to a valid abuse report, or where registrant data cannot be verified. Where reasonable and lawful, we will notify you, but for certain disputes and abuse cases we may act without prior notice as required by policy.
7. Reserved and premium names
Some names are reserved by a registry or priced as premium names, with registration and renewal fees that differ from standard names. Where this applies, the applicable fee is shown before you confirm a purchase.
